The Royal dUCk Collection

In my dUCk journey, a lot of amazing things happen. Some expected, some unexpected and some just throw me right off my chair in utter disbelief. This is one of them. Never have I ever thought we’d be collaborating with a member of royalty and what more, Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah of Brunei!! My partner Vivy led this project and would always update us on their brainstorming ideas and conversations. Every single time without fall, my heart would flutter at the mention of this collaboration. It meant the world to me that Her Royal Highness has deemed our ducks worthy of her royal collection.

HRH Sarah Rahaman, wife to His Royal Highness The Crown Prince of Brunei is known to be a true Bruneian at heart who cares deeply about women’s development in today’s society. She decided to dedicate this duck to represent the power of women. Every single element of this duck means something;

1) The wheel signifies independence. We found it so interesting that even as highly guarded as she is, she drives herself around Brunei and still sees to it that she sends her children to school on her own, and that further elevated our respect for HRH Sarah.

2) The grid background was inspired by a racquet as the sporty person in her believes that every women needs to be fit. She regularly keeps active with activities such as Muay Thai, crossfit, netball and that’s just to name a few. She was even in the military cadet too! Talk about girl power!

3) The diamonds represent class and elegance. A woman speaks kindly of one another with sincere words and good manners. While her eyes sparkle in pure excitement like the diamonds.

4) The flowers signify softness and femininity. Be firm in all that we do, but never forget to use our weapon of grace that can charm even the toughest rulers. Never wilt, duckies, keep blooming beautifully.

5) The bees promote teamwork, as HRH Sarah always believes that women should support one another and offer help wherever possible. We are stronger

The message of this duck could not have been more apt because in this day and age where women are rising, we need to always remember that we are sisters no matter who we are. Women should empower one another and be proud of each other’s achievements. That is a powerful message from this beautiful woman; a doting mother of three beautiful children, a caring daughter and sister, a loving wife, who also happens to be a visionary princess with a heart of gold.

Finally, it is official! It feels so surreal to announce this collaboration dUCk x Her Royal Highness Sarah of Brunei. I might faint in happiness, but before I do, I would like to present to you, dUCkies… your Royal dUCk. – D.
